Our History

Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, Bob Scherer was working for a machine shop/electric motor shop in Sioux Falls called Shakstad’s. In 1994, Shakstad’s wanted to sell off the portion of the machine shop that was reconditioning mill rolls. Bob Scherer took that opportunity and established Scherer Corrugating and Machine in a small shop just outside of Tea, SD. At that time, there were only 1-2 part time employees.

The business slowly expanded into 3-4 full time employees and a need for a larger facility. We moved into our current location on Mindy St in September 2001. Once we moved into a larger facility, we were able to expand our products and services into what we offer today. After three building expansions, and the purchase of an additional building, our facility now covers over 60,000 sq ft. We have enjoyed steady business growth and have grown to over 72 employees over the past 25 years.
