Forestry Wood Chippers

For processing clean wood into reusable materials, Pioneer SC, Blanchard`s Forestry Equipment division, recommends using a wood chipper. The blade on a chipper slices or “‘chips” the tree into small, evenly shaped pieces. The chips are then pushed through a chute into the back of a chip van. The wood can also be “de-barked” before being sent through the chipper, resulting in `clean chips.` Clean chips are taken to a mill and processed for pulp or pellet manufacturing. Like grind material, chips with the bark still attached, or “dirty chips” are used for many bio-energy applications including hog fuel (erosion control), bio-mass energy, or boiler fuel. Our Pioneer forestry division carries a full line of Woodsman and Peterson Chippers,as well as Peterson Debarkers, all of which are run by Caterpillar engines.
