ITC - Grain Silos
AWILA’s individual silo solutions are designed to meet a wide range of customer requirements, from small farms to large-scale industrial facilities. AWILA grain silos are available with a diameter of 4.6 m to 32 m and a capacity of up to 20,000 t of grain in each individual hopper. The roof, walls and floor are fully galvanised for long-term corrosion resistance. The grain is fed in centrally without compaction and is also unloaded centrally for safe load distribution. For unloading, a transport vehicle tunnel is provided underneath the silo.
The silo floors have recessed ventilation ducts with perforated grilles for optimum ventilation. Ambient air is forced through the grain by powerful fans and can escape through air vents in the roof. This completely removes any condensate and maintains the silo contents at the optimum moisture content. Temperature sensors inside the silo help to locate and eliminate any pockets of moisture. AWILA® silos have a “full” indicator in the roof which reliably switches off the supply of grain to the silo at the source in good time, allowing all the downstream conveyors to run until they are empty. This minimises post-harvest losses. External fill level indicators can also be installed as an option for improved management of silo filling. An inward-opening door provides easy access to the empty silo and allows thorough cleaning.
