Knapen - Bagging Unit
A striking example of a profitable solution is the trailer with bagging unit which Knapen Trailers developed in 2008. The advantage of the bagging unit is that the load, for example wet animal feed, is instantly unloaded airtight into a bag. Therefore, the cattle farmer saves time on time-consuming covering after unloading. Summed up briefly: a profitable solution for the transporter, feed supplier and the customer.
Unloading and packaging all at the same time:
Knapen Trailers supplies the moving floor trailers with an optional bagging unit. During unloading, this system presses the load through a flexible synthetic hose. The special moving floor ensures that the load is properly deposited into the bagging unit. These trailers are used e.g. for the transport and packaging of brewery spent grain: A by-product of beer production which serves as protein-rich animal feed. The hose ensures perfect preservation, as it instantly seals the load airtight during unloading. Furthermore, the system saves on labour, the cattle farmer no longer requires a silo and any concrete slabs are no longer corroded by the press juices of the animal feed. The trailers are fully thought-out in close cooperation with the customer: Thanks to a 30-tonne widespread axle system you can achieve, when desired, the maximum allowable Dutch weight of 50 tonnes on only five axles. This allows you to transport no less than 34 tonnes of brewery spent grain per ride. For manoeuvring on the small farmyards of the cattle farmers, the 1st axle is fitted with an axle lift and the 3rd axle has forced steering.
The bagging unit is detachable. This allows the trailers to be used universally to unload other (return) loads without the bagging unit. That is what we call Endless Innovation!
