nano-ROOTGUARD BAND - Subsurface Drip Irrigation
Nano-ROOTGUARD is the key to Geoflow’s success with subsurface drip irrigation. ROOTGUARD technology combines Trifluralin, or in the E.U. Balan®, with the drip emitter to inhibit root growth. The herbicide is released at a uniform rate, maintaining sufficient concentration in the soil immediately surrounding the drip emitter to prevent root growth into the emitter. Built-in ROOTGUARD protection is guaranteed by Geoflow to prevent roots from growing into subsurface drip emitters. Nano-ROOTGUARD is a patented Geoflow improvement which increases the expected life from 20years to 30 years. Balan & Trifluralin are registered trademarks of Dow AgroSciences.
Subsurface drip systems use the same basic components as surface drip systems, including water filtration and treatment, fertilizer injection, air vents, flush valves and controls.
Geoflow specializes in manufacturing trouble-free subsurface drip irrigation, in both pressure compensating and turbulent flow models, with ROOTGUARD protection.
Traditional drip irrigation is found above ground, now with the invention of ROOTGUARD¹, the lines can be buried below ground for a long, trouble-free life. Subsurface irrigation allows the precise application of water, nutrients and other agro- chemicals directly to the root zone of plants. This allows the farmer to optimize the growing environment and leads to higher quality and quantity crop yields. By stressing product quality, dependability and ease of use, Geoflow is providing the best products available in the Subsurface irrigation market today.
The depth and placement of subsurface driplines is determined by the soil composition and the crop needs. An efficient installation has water moving by capillary action at a depth of 4 to 30 inches beneath the surface, forming a continuous wetted area along the plant rows. Frequent irrigation cycles (several times daily) maximize capilllary action and minimize water surfacing.
Save Water
No evaporation. No runoff. No overspray. No wet sidwalks. Geoflow tm systems cut water use by up tp 50%. They are extremely efficient for narrow or odd-shaped areas such as median strips and planting beds.
Invisible
Landscape are unspoiled by ugly gadgets, garden hose, driplines or protuding sprinkler heads.
An underground system provides no access to vandals.
Eliminates InjuryThe landscape surface is free of irrigation parts that may cause injury.
Reduced LiabilitySubsurfaced drip delivers water only where it is needed, without creating wet slippery areas on pedestrian walkways and road surfaces.
Grow Healthier PlantsControlled balance of oxygen and water results in healthy root growth and less plant stress. Dry foliage reduces fungus and mildew.
DurableGEOFLOWtm products are made of durable polyolefins with no moving parts. Underground installation protects them from damage caused by sunlight and temperature fluctuations.
No Splash DamageAvoid rot and watermarks on fences, walls and sidewalks caused by sprinkler and splash damage. Irrigate narrow and irregular areas.
Safe and Efficient FertilizingAdded at a single inlet, fertilizers flow directly to the roots, eliminating waste and avoiding human contact.
Substantial Water SavingsNo More water loss due to evaporation, mist, surface runoff and wind interference. The controlled-grid systems waters the area uniformly by capillary actions, and avoids the waste of overspray.
Less EnergyThe low-pressure system requires less energy to send water to the plant zone.
Direct irrigation encourages sturdy and deep root growth. A dry surface reduces disease as well as damage to grass caused by human and equipment traffic.
Less System DamageHidden below ground, the system is safe from breakage caused by vandalism, theft, automobiles, aerators and mowers. The absence of moving parts reduces the risk of failure.
Improved Soil AerationWithout sprinkler droplets to cause compaction, fine soil particles will not wash into the ground.
Safe Soft SurfaceGEOFLOW tm systems eliminates human injury and equipment damage caused by sprinkler heads.
Flexible Irrigation SchedulingA field can be used and played on or maintained during the irrigation cycle.
Reduced LiabilitySubsurface drip only delivers water where it is needed, without creating slippery wet areas.
Less FertilizerDirect delivery of fertilizer through the system reduces waste and pollution of the aquifer.
Reduce CostBy decreasing water, fertilizer, maintenance, energy–use, disease and liability, GEOFLOW tm systems are less expensive in total cost than traditional sprinkler systems.
Easy to InstallDriplines, 1 to 4 at a time, can be installed 6 to 8 inches below ground. Plows do not harm existing turf.
