Specifications
The Nomad poultry layer house has a width of 8.0 meters and a ridge height of 3.40 metres. Its modular construction allows the building length to be specified to meet the requirements of each site and flock; expanded by multiples of the structures 2.10m framework spacing.
The building’s structure is manufactured from 60mm (circular section), 2.0mm thick, Z35 hot-dip galvanized steel tube roof and Z35 hot-dip galvanized vertical beams with a 60mm x 40 (section) and 4.0mm wall, providing superior structural integrity along with a lasting and high-quality finish. Cross bracing is fitted at every bay creating a robust structure, ensuring stability when mobile and during adverse weather conditions.
The building’s roof is a 3-ply construction, comprising of a resilient 600gm PVC inner and outer sheet, sandwiching a sleeved 80mm Earthwool FactoryClad insulation. Side and gable end walls are constructed from extruded HDPE olive green interlocking polyboard panels. Polyboard is twin walled with a hollow-lattice section, providing excellent strength and insulation, each panel is 250 mm high with a thickness of 33mm.
An adjustable, vertical vent is positioned along both sides of the building; running the length of the building these vents allow the user to control air flow. Two adjustable ridge vents in the roof draw air through the building and exhausting ‘dirty’ air.
Conforming to freedom foods standards, a raised slatted floor makes up 66% of the floor area. This raised floor is formed of interlocking plastic tiles fitted into a grid of angled beams supported by box section beams.
Pop-holes are evenly distributed across both sides of the building with a provision of 600 chickens per pop-hole. Personnel access is provided by a single door at the front and rear of the building, access to the egg collection room is through a set of double doors; designed to allow access for removing palletised eggs with a pallet truck or similar loading equipment. The Roam layer house is constructed on two galvanised skids that run the length of the structure – the building is fully mobile and with the correct equipment can be simply towed to fresh pasture between laying cycles.
Sold and dispatched with a full installation manual, this building can be self-installed by a capable team, however, we recommend customers consider using a dedicated installer for their building. This building is packed and dispatched as a palletised kit and can be distributed worldwide.
