Conetrap Ceratitis captures the adults of the fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata), especially the females, preventing them from peeling the fruit to lay their eggs and thus avoiding the larvae that will be the ones that cause the damage to the fruits appear.
What is it?
It is a plant protection product (the applicator card is necessary for purchase) of great efficiency for the massive capture of the fruit fly. It is composed of the Conetrap Mosquero Base, the Conetrap insecticide tapa and the Dry Conetrap Ceratitis, 6 months duration and specific for the fruit fly.
What`s the use?
Conetrap Ceratitis captures the adults of the fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata), especially the females, preventing them from peeling the fruit to lay their eggs and thus avoiding the larvae that will be the ones that cause the damage to the fruits appear.
How to apply it?
Using the lid hook as you support, we will hang Conetrap Ceratitis from a branch of 1 finger thickness (about 2-3cm) in the southern part of the tree.
When to apply it?
The musket should be placed on the trees to protect about 4-5 months before the expected harvest date. The last moment to apply it would be when the fruit begins to ripen, that is, when it changes color.
How many Conetrap Ceratitis to place?
In the case of large surfaces (1ha) we will place 75 units/ha homogeneously, i.e. one musketeer every 12 x 12 meters.
In the case of small surfaces or isolated trees we will place one musket every 2 or 3 trees. However, it should be borne in mind that for optimal operation of the mass capture technique, surfaces greater than 1ha are necessary.
How`s it sold?
It is sold in a unitary way. If you need more quantity, you can purchase the same product in boxes of 25 units (Conetrap Ceratitis).
The second year of application of the product can be reused the Conetrap Base and acquire only the replacement (Conetrap insecticide to the Attente Ceratitis) in 25-unit format or in unit format.
When to remove it?
It is advisable to keep the product in the tree until 7 months after the date of application. Even if the fruit has been harvested before, leaving the musketeer in the tree we will be eliminating adults from the last generation, so the pest pressure for the next campaign will be reduced.
