We have just built a “Pre-entry” unit, to give breeders confidence that we take Health status seriously and do our utmost to maintain it; all new animals arriving are housed there, blood tested in order to establish the correct health status of each one, this then enables us to place them in the correct yard, for their status, minimising the potential of compromising your animals status.
The buildings have been specially designed to give maximum comfort and stress free environment, we have put yoking barriers in every bay, and made the pens to accommodate from 2 to 4 donors and larger pens to accommodate recipients. Calves can also be catered for with creep facilities.
The building has special lighting in every bay to replicate as near as possible natural day light until late evening, helping to increase melatonin production in winter as would happen in summer, this helps to increase the natural fertility of the Donors and Recipients.
The building also has PTZ cameras, so that they can be observed from a distance, which in some cases helps us detect oestrus that may only happen for a short period.
A nutritionist has developed a special ration for our Donors and another one for Recipients in order to help maximise their success.
AI is carried out by our staff, who observe the heats and inseminate at the optimum times, carrying out a deep insemination in order to target semen more directly.
All our Collections and Transfers are carried out by Dr Alain Nivot who has over 30 years experience.
Every Donor is assessed on her physical condition and her breeding past and the program is then established to meet her needs, and as we get to know and understand her, further programs are adapted to suite her.
