Value addition is a part of MKK’s mission since the start. Moving a step ahead, MKK has set up a new 9mtr semi-automatic galvanization plant in Ranipet, Tamilnadu. Galvanization is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron in order to prevent premature rust or corrosion. The corrosion of zinc is very slow which gives it an extended life while it protects the base metal which results in a low cost long-term.
Any METRPO GALV product, pipe or structure, will go through a automated seven step process that makes sure the entire surface of the product is completed coated. These tubes can withstand severe weather conditions offer high tensile strength, great performance and durability due to higher pure zinc coating.
Hot dip galvanizing offers coverage both externally and internally within hollow sections, it self-repairs when damaged, sacrifices itself to protect the base metal, is environmentally sustainable, has good impact and abrasion-resistance and a maintenance-free life of 50 years or more. Galvanized steel is widely used in applications where corrosion protection is needed and can be identified by the crystallised pattern on the surface (often called a ‘spangle’).
