S&A - Model NU 230 -Skid Mounted Hydraulic Fertilizer Tender
S & A’s NU 230 skid mounted hydraulic fertilizer tender is designed for those that don’t want to pay extra for a trailer, and have something to mount the unit on, be it a tandem axle flatbed, a truck chassis, or a running gear. The result is a lower cost unit that can be removed from the trailer, chassis, etc. and set aside when not needed freeing up the unit it was mounted to for other tasks.
On a standard unit the discharge auger is mounted in the left side rear, folding down along nearly the entire length of the tender hopper. It utilizes a cross bottom auger to move material to the discharge auger. These features make the tender a shorter, higher capacity, easier to load unit with a lower center of gravity than a gravity flow tender. The unit’s height with the discharge auger down is only 54″ above the base of the skid, yet it still carries a full 230 cubic feet of material and its 8″ auger discharges at a height of about 90″ above the base of the skid. Options available are roll tarps, larger engines, and heavy duty hydraulic systems. It has a slightly greater capacity than the NUG 228 6 ton fertilizer tender, and it can be modified to suit the needs of the customer. It comes standard with a 16 horse engine, though many customers prefer to hook the hydraulics directly to the hydraulics on their truck, or to hook a hydraulic pump directly to the trucks PTO.
