SERRA - Model Africa XE 135 / XE 160 - Sawmill for Heavy Logs
Log band sawmill with extremely robust design. In Africa, machines need be more rugged. The woods are harder and heavier, and the trunks are thicker. This is why in 2005 we developed a sawmill with an extremely rugged design specifically for Africa: the Africa XE. The success of this model in Africa has also spread to other parts of the world. The XE is a popular choice for industrial roundwood processing, plant construction and as an additional machine for cutting extremely heavy timber.
A sawmill with impressive equipment options and a top notch price/performance ratio.
Two sizes are available: The XE 135 for logs up to 135 centimetres in diameter and the XE 160 for logs up to 160 centimetres. With a cutting width of 140 centimetres, the latter can cut, e.g. the tabletop of your new regulars’ table in a matter of minutes.

Unlike the standard solution (similar to the Montana), we are offering various optional operating solutions that can increase your ease of use significantly. One available option is a standalone version, which is mechanically decoupled and only electrically and hydraulically connected to the sawmill. This prevents vibrations and shocks that may be transferred to the cockpit when loading and turning heavy logs. In addition, this can be comfortably integrated into a heated, self-built space behind the machine. We also offer an ergonomic V-Cockpit with a comfortable leather seat. Upon request this is available with vertical (+100 cm) and horizontal (+/- 50 cm) movement in order to maintain a clear overview even with the the thickest of logs. We call this version the “pulpit”. With the V-Cockpit, all functions and screens are arranged for easy access.
