Thanks to its sowing accuracy and economy, the Nova Combi has achieved phenomenal success in tests and competitions the whole world over. Nova Combi is the only seed and fertiliser drill on the market with a wheel in front of the coulters. The wheel adjusts and maintains seed sowing depth, enabling more even sprouting. Harrowing depth changes have no impact on seed sowing depth. On the Nova Combi Module, both the seeds and the fertiliser are fed into the same dual disk coulter and then slightly separated from each other within the coulter. This reduces the risk of phytotoxicity and the amount of fertiliser spread in a single run can be higher than other sowing machines in the same furrow. In very dry conditions, we recommend using coulter disks of the same size in order to ensure that the capillary lift brings water to the seeds and ensures their germination.

The support wheel set is very spacious and follows the contours of the field surface while rolling it with even pressure. It conforms to the field surface by means of hydraulic pressure and closes the seed furrow precisely, because each support wheel works as a closing wheel at the same time. This enables a more generous spacing of the coulters and eliminates the need for separate closing wheels.

The wheelset is designed to prevent stones from easily becoming wedged between the wheels. The support wheels are also kept clean by scrapers mounted to the machine. A new accessory available for the wheelset is a hydraulic suspension, which provides added comfort when transporting the machine on public roads. The hydraulic rear harrow behind the wheelset is standard equipment on the Nova Combi Module.

The total width of the Nova Combi Module is the same as its working width. For example, the transport width of the Nova Combi Module 3000 is only 3 metres. The machine can then be conveniently moved from section to section with no problems during transport. Hydraulic suspension, which provides added comfort when transporting the machine, is available as an optional accessory.

Precise sowing depth

Sowing and fertilising depth is controlled by large, soil-compacting wheels in front of each coulter unit. Since the steering takes place ahead of the coulters, there is enough time to adjust the working depth to match variations in the soil surface, and the furrow made by the coulter, driving speed or hopper fill level will not affect the sowing depth. The wheel compacts the soil in front of the coulter, thus ensuring clog-free operation and sowing into intact soil. There is also a slight offest on the Nova Combi Module wheels, which helps with soil penetration when working in extremely soft conditions. Wheels come with a standard smooth tread pattern tyre as well as a more impact-resistant lug tread pattern tyre on the HD wheels.

Large hoppers and useful step plates

The combined volume of Nova Combi’s easily filled hoppers is one of the largest on the market. The hopper is divided into two compartments with a partition, whose position is adjustable. Fililing the hopper is easy because the filling ports are large (also in the driving direction) and the spring-loaded tarpaulin covers can be opened on two sides. Nova Combi Module is equipped with a sieve as standard in the fertiliser hopper and as an optional accessory for the seed hopper. Agitators are also available as an optional accessory. Nova Combi Module also comes standard with excellent step plates and railings, which ensure the safe use of the machine in a variety of conditions.

Feeding units and ISOBUS user interface

On the Nova Combi Module, Tume’s traditional feeding units have always been extremely accurate throughout the company’s history. With the popularity of specialised fertilisers and fluid seed treatment growing in recent years, the placement of of the feeding units on the flat bottom of the hopper has become one of Tume’s strengths. This placement maintains a high rate of flow to the feeder equipment in all conditions, thus allowing the feeder to do what it should. Indeed, Tume’s feeding units have won numerous tests conducted by independent testing institutions in the sowing of challenging sowing materials. The feeding units get their power from a large-diameter ground wheel. This ensures that the fill level of the machine and any compaction caused by the tyres will have no effect on the feed rate and road transports will not put any strain on feeding unit parts.

Nova Combi Module comes standard with an ISOBUS computer. In practice, this means that the machine can be operated with ISOBUS using the tractor’s own user interface. Naturally, the machine can also come with its own touchscreen user interface, with either a 7 or 12-inch screen. In this case, the machine can be used with all types of tractors. The Module’s user interface view can be changed according to the operator’s needs. The view can be kept simple or it can include a large amount of data and controls.

The ISOBUS compatibility of Nova Combi Module makes it eminently suitable for precision cultivation as it can be paired with electronic fertiliser and seed remote control as optional accessories.

Unparalleled power and economy

In the Nova Combi Module, seed and fertiliser is run into the same coulter, but with Tume’s proprietary dual disk coulter, they are kept slightly separated from one another. Because there are no fertiliser coulters and all dual disk parts working the soil are rotating, the Nova Combi Module requires up to 30% less tractive power. This low tractive resistance saves up to 5 litres of fuel per hectare and, switching to a Nova Combi Module does not necessarily require a larger, more powerful tractor. The maximum coulter weighting of the Nova Combi Module is sufficient in all conditions – approximately 200 kg/coulter.
