Silamort - Ensiler Machine
From Ensilers
Built into the top is a powerful 4kW motor driving the cutter shaft which is supported on two stainless steel ball bearings. The cutter sits close to the bottom of the tank, and acts both as a macerator and mixer. At the front, on top, is the hatch for the morts. An interlocking cut-out switch is mounted beside the hatch and is actuated by the hatch cover, preventing the motor being started unless the cover is shut properly. The starter for the cutter motor is mounted on a bracket next to the hatch. A 3” valved outlet is at the back of the tank and terminates with a 3” BSP male threaded fitting.
Products Details
A manually operated acid dosing pump is mounted on the side and connects into the tank via a short hose. The acid suction line connects to the barrel by a camlock coupling through a 2” barrel fitting and rigid suction tube. On system models, (illustrated), a 3” discharge pump is mounted on a chassis with the ensiler and is connected by a valved outlet. The pump discharges via a 2” hose.
The Norfab Silamort is capable of macerating any amount of dead fish, up to a full load in one operation. There must not be any less in the tank when starting, than the amount it takes to immerse the bottom bearing of the cutter shaft. Experience indicates that a full tank of dead fish usually needs around 2 hours to become completely liquidised.
