Spectrum 380 - Mycotoxin Analysis Feed
Spectrum 380 tests feed material samples for more than 800 mycotoxins and fungal metabolites (including regulated mycotoxins, masked and modified forms and emerging mycotoxins) and additionally (toxic) secondary metabolites of plants and bacteria in one go.
This fully validated multi-mycotoxin method based on LC-MS/MS was developed by the world’s leading independent mycotoxin research lab at the Department of Agrobiotechnology (IFA-Tulln) at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU) (described by Sulyok et al . (Ref. 2020)). In cooperation with dsm-firmenich (former BIOMIN®) this advanced method was introduced into the market as Spectrum 380® in 2014.
- Over 800 mycotoxins and secondary metabolites, including masked and modified mycotoxins
- Secondary metabolites of plants (including several phytoestrogens)
- Secondary metabolites of bacteria
Additionally this method also allows simultaneous quantification of pesticides and veterinary drugs in (complex) feed, realized by the same research team (Steiner et al. 2020). This service is available on special request and covers:
- Approximately 300 pesticides
- 150 veterinarian drugs
Spectrum 380® is not a routine analysis, but it is done in special cases and/or as part of research of future objectives. This method allows simultaneous detection of multiple mycotoxins and other toxins and metabolites in one run in raw materials, finished feed, and complex matrices like silages and TMR.
