Vaederstad - Model Carrier XT 425-625 -Trailed Foldable Disc Cultivator

A main feature of Carrier XT is its hydraulically rotating disc axles. Thereby Carrier XT is able to optimize the cut-out performance at shallow depth, while increasing the depth precision at deeper working depths. Reducing the amount of soil moved and optimizing the machine weight, is important to deliver best possible results as well as minimise the diesel consumption. By adapting the disc angles to the working depth, Väderstad Carrier can do more with less.

For the farmer, this is seen in a full cut-out at shallower working depth, as well as an excellent depth keeping and reduced soil flow at deeper working depths.

Carrier XT 425-625 can be fitted with either 450mm discs or 470mm TrueCut discs. Both discs produces fine tilth optimal for a stale seedbed.

The 450mm disc has small cut-outs, resulting in an intensive cultivation even at a very shallow working depth. The 470mm TrueCut disc has larger cut-outs which can handle more crop residue with increased penetration.

To meet differing farming needs, Väderstad offers a wide range of discs for disc cultivators. With the right choice of discs you are able to optimise the working result on your fields, providing the best start possible for the next crop.

CrossCutter Disc performs outstanding in oilseed rape stubble and in cover crops, while also enabling great advantages in grain stubble as well as on ploughed land. Because of its disc shape and high quality Swedish steel, CrossCutter Disc provides full cultivation and intensive mixing at shallow working depth. This means that an extensive stale seedbed is created over the entire field.

A third row of discs on the Carrier XT Trailed narrows the disc spacing to 8.3 cm. This significantly increases the tillage intensity, fine tilth creation, and residue mixing in the topsoil. In turn, this leads to higher germination rates of weeds and leftover seeds, which can be effectively eliminated with a second pass.

The discs are positioned in an x-shape, which enables the lateral forces to cancel each other out. The x-disc format guarantees that the machine will always run dead straight behind the tractor. This saves diesel but is also essential when using a GPS guidance system or when driving in hilly conditions.

By equipping Carrier XT with the intensive knife roller CrossCutter Knife, crop residues can be cut in two directions.

Weeds and small-seeded crops, such as oilseed rape, profit from an improved germination. A benefit after grain or sunflowers is the intensified chopping of the straw, giving a faster decomposition. Additionally, cover crops can be crushed and incorporated cost efficiently.

With CrossBoard Heavy, clods are crushed and the soil is levelled. A double acting stabilising bar increases levelling capacity.

The CrossBoard is equipped with master and slave cylinders, which ensures a level work result by maintaining the position of each CrossBoard section.

On ploughed heavy land, CrossBoard Heavy enables Carrier to prepare a well prepared seedbed which in turn reduces the number of passes required.

The double-acting stabiliser bar connects the CrossBoard tines to one single unit, preventing separate tines to move either forward or backward. This radically increases the suspension power and in turn the capacity to both level the field, and crush clods.

With a strong tube frame and heavy-duty joints, Carrier XT is constructed to withstand heavy stresses.

All Väderstad packers are equipped with packer suspensions. This reduces the shocks into the frame, drastically increasing the machine working life.

By equipping the Carrier XT 425-625 with the mountable small seeder, BioDrill 360, small-seeded crops such as oilseed rape or cover crops can be established in the same pass as the cultivation operation.

The integrated ground radar ensures precise speed detection, while the high fan capacity guarantees even distribution of all seed sizes.
