It is a capture musketeer on different pests, especially flies, depending on the attractive one we place inside. In many cases we can use the attractive liquid Bactrotrap 16% (1.5l./ud) or the liquid Bactrotrap 16% (10l./ud).
It consists of:
- An orange base (chromatic attraction) with 3 side holes and a lower one. In each of the lateral holes is inserted a small transparent tube that makes it difficult to escape the flies once they have entered the musket, thus increasing the number of catches.
- A lid that has been applied to a treatment against UV rays, which allows significant lengthening the useful life of the product, and has a metal hook to facilitate its placement in the branches of the trees.
The mounted Maxitrap UV Mosquero is a multipurpose musketeer that can be used in different situations depending on the attractant used and the number of musketeers applied:

Using the lid`s metal hook as you stand, we`ll hang Mosquero Maxitrap from a branch of 1-look thickness (about 2-3cm) on the southern part of the tree, preventing the musket from being completely exposed to the sun.
When to apply it?The musket should be placed on the trees to protect about 4-5 months before the expected harvest date. The last moment to apply it would be the moment the fruit begins to ripen, that is, when it changes color.
How many Mosqueros Maxitrap to place? To decide how many mussers we must place, the first question is: What is the goal with which we place these musketeers?
- Monitoring the adult population: it allows us to identify whether it is necessary to perform a phytosanitary treatment and the optimal time for this. In this case we will place about 2-5 mussers per hectare.
- Pest control: It allows us to reduce the adult population of the pest by avoiding damage to the fruit. In this case we will place about 50-80 musketeers per hectare.
In the case of small surfaces or isolated trees we will place one musket every 2 or 3 trees.
How`s it sold?It is sold with mounted side tubes and in boxes of 25 units (although it is possible to purchase fewer units) and where only the lid has to be attached to the base.
In case of loss or breakage of any of the components of the Maxitrap Mosquero, these can be purchased separately and are:
When to remove it?It is advisable to keep the musket active while captures are observed, filling it with skilful Bactrotrap when it has evaporated.
Even if the fruit has been harvested before, leaving the musketeer in the tree we will be eliminating adults from the last generation, so the pest pressure for the next campaign will be reduced.
Depending on the weather and plague pressure in the area, catches may occur throughout the year. In this case we recommend keeping the musket active all year round to achieve a constant reduction in fly populations.
