Available in Canada (Campbell River-BC) and Puerto Montt (Chile). Due to changing operation protocols and environmental regulations on the salmon farms, new methods for washing of nets was required, particularly for nets treated with copper antifouling paint.

The Campbell River land base net wash operation is equipped to handle nets with antifouling coatings (e.g. Copper) with approved concrete containment, waste treatment and disposal infrastructure. At the Campbell River net wash facility all operational procedures and protocols are CFIA reviewed and approved as it relates to biosecurity if a fish health event occurs. The Net wash facility in Campbell River is in a separate location from the main net service facility to ensure all biosecurity concerns are minimized but is close enough to maintain efficiencies of the operation and minimize costs for the farmers on the transport between the wash and main service
site.

In Port Hardy a washing wall with high pressure cleaning is used for untreated/uncoated nets only and is located in a separate area from the main net service facility as well.

All equipment and machinery utilized at the BNSC net wash facilities are sized and designed to handle the dirtiest fouled nets including a 65 ton crane, 35,000 lb. Forklift and Drum, 42m3 Net Wash Drum and a 31 meter Wash Wall.
