Genetic Resources Facility Services
The Genetic Resources Facility (EFIGEN) hosts the long-standing EUFORGEN programme, the European hub for forest genetic resources, promoting research, informing policy making and networking. EFIGEN is also responsible for the communication and science-policy interface for EC-funded projects and networks related to forest genetics.
EUFORGEN is an international cooperation programme that promotes the conservation and sustainable use of forest genetic resources in Europe as an integral part of sustainable forest management. Experts from member countries come together within EUFORGEN to exchange information and experience, analyse policies and practice, and develop science-based strategies, tools and methods to improve the management of forest genetic resources (FGR). EUFORGEN is hosted by EFI’s Genetic Resources Facility.
