The "3C" health management program, making use of Clean seed, Clean water and Clean pond bottom, has been introduced by CPF (Charoen Pokphand Foods) Malaysia to help shrimp farmers to cope with an increasing number of important shrimp diseases i.e. WSSV, AHPND, EMS, WFS, EHP and ATM. These shrimp diseases are devastating and causing important economic losses to Malaysia shrimp farmers due to crop loss and/or increased production costs following low survival and growth retardation. Disease progression patterns vary. The 3C strategy combined with completed Biosecurity system which comprised of a set of physical, chemical and biological precaution measures including HDPE geomembrane lining for shrimp culture, water treatment or ready-to-use (RTU) water designed either in tank or pond system in Malaysia, aimes at a sustainable shrimp production without the use of antibiotic.
