Saw Bar Lubrication & Maintenance Services
Most common problems occur on the bar rails and are usually caused by: Lack of lubrication; Do not use Hydraulic oil, diesel or used oil from engines etc..: A saw chain and bar must never run dry, resulting in shorter life of saw bar and chain. Make sure that you are getting oil out to the saw bar tip. Sometimes the oil hole on the bar needs cleaning or the lubrication pump can be faulty!

Improper chain tension or sharpened saw chain
- Do not over tighten the saw chain, this will damage both saw chain, bar & nose sprocket. A new chain will require to be re tighten after a few cut’s (unless automatic tensioner is used).
- Use a proper machine chain grinder at least every second time to make sure the right & left teeth’s are equally sharpened. If not the chain will pull the bar sideways when cutting. Normally the bottom teeth’s facing the ground when felling gets un-sharp sooner due to gravel and dirt!
If there is any problems cutting:
- Saw motor weak (internal leakage) or to low rpm speed
- Saw chain needs sharpening
- Too high or low feed force (on feed cylinder)
Turn the bar over at least once per week to get maximum life out of the bar, clean the chain grove
