Map2SoilSoil Services

SHARE

This service provides us with useful information about the soil of our farm for different purposes. We pass through the entire farm a sensor capable of measuring the Apparent Electrical Conductivity at different depths. Next, we perform a guided sampling based on the sensor data. Then, we analyze the samples obtained in the field in the laboratory. From the field and laboratory data, the zoning of the plot is carried out and the different maps are obtained that will give us the necessary information on the parameters necessary for soil management. It is the service called “MAP2SOIL”, to generate maps of different parameters of areas with different types of soil in the same plot. Within the same farm there are always very different soils. If precision agriculture is not applied, the entire farm is treated equally with very heterogeneous results. On the contrary, knowing each type of soil allows us to manage the areas that are different in a different and more efficient way.

Most popular related searches
  • Irrigation

Allows different watering of areas that have different behavior with respect to water: For example, more clayey areas will be watered with a different frequency than sandy ones.

  • Sowing

Knowing which are the most productive areas allows you to apply a higher density of seed, and apply less in the poorest areas. This optimizes the amount of seed and increases production. (If a high density of seeds is placed in very poor soil, the competition between them can cause no plants to grow, while if the appropriate density is placed, the maximum production that the soil can give will be obtained).

  • Precision machinery

Today there is available precision machinery with GPS, which doses seed or fertilizers in a variable rate. At Greenfield -from the soil maps- we generate the files with the prescriptions that are sent to the precision machinery so that the correct dose is applied at each point of the farm.

  • Fertilization

Knowing the productive potential of each part of the farm allows to apply more nutrients where the land has the most deficiencies, and less where there are fewer needs.
