Knowledge of the quality of the water bottom is particularly important when dredging operations are carried out. The quality of the water bottom to be dredged, and the receiving sediment must be known. Even when ownership transfers can understand the sediment quality is necessary. PJ Milieu BV conducts research on the basis of the applicable national standard BS 5720. The research starts with collecting historical information and asking a hypothesis: Which sediment quality may be expected? Then, the sediment is sampled with the aid of a representative number of stitch drilling. During the sampling of the sampler assess sensory, among other things, the thickness and the structure of the sludge layer and the underlying soil. After analyzing the samples, the results are tested and the quality class is determined. It is also determined whether the sludge is or is not dispersible.
The following class are possible:
Freely usable
The released dredging can be applied anywhere.
Class A
The released dredging can be applied to the adjacent plot or on a water bottom with equal or lower quality class.
Class B
Application to a water bottom with an equal or comparable quality class is possible.
Not applicable
The dredging can not be reused in principle, unless within field-specific framework.
The results are expressed in a clear report including a recommendation. The recommendation is agreed with the client, so the client has a practical and useful report in hands. PJ Milieu BV guarantees to the quality of the studies by working according to NEN standards and ACL protocols. The analyzes are performed by an accredited laboratory Accreditation Council. The property is included in the quality system according to ISO 9000, with the wish of the customer the starting point.
