The HERDEplus Cow Body Scan System leverages advanced 3D image analysis to monitor and assess the health and well-being of Friesian-Holstein cows in a contactless and efficient manner. Utilizing sensors to measure movement and body condition during daily operations, the system provides real-time updates on the cows' locomotion and physical status. By detecting deviations from expected values, it offers insights into potential lameness or lactation-specific conditioning, integrated seamlessly with HERDEplus herd management systems for comprehensive data exchange. The system uses an electronic animal recognition process combined with optical sensors to capture unique body points in motion, compiling weekly averages that aid in decision-making and potential treatment actions. Recognized by the German Agricultural Society and the German Association of Practicing Veterinarians, the system has been awarded for its contributions toward improved animal welfare standards. This innovative technology enhances herd management through precise measurement and data-driven recommendations.
Detected deviations from the animal-specific expected values allow you to draw conclusions about incipient lameness or lactation-dependent conditioning of your herd.
The data obtained are in constant exchange with the animal-individual information from the herd management system HERDEplus. If selection technology is available, these animals can be made available for evaluation and if necessary for treatment.
HERDEplus cow body scan was developed for the automated evaluation of Friesian-Holstein cows. The contactless technique determines the individual changes in movement behavior and deviations in body condition.
