agCommander - Grape Forecaster Module for Viticulture

The Grape Forecaster module is an optional Add-On for grape growers. Grape Forecaster is available as a stand-alone application or as an Add-On module in agCommander.  Developed in partnership with Australia’s Viticulture Research organisations in 2004 and re-written for “cloud” deployment. Our association with the viticulture industry goes back a long way.  As far back as 1989 in fact, when we wrote a small application for Tyrell Wines (Hunter Valley, NSW) to manage their soil and petiole test results.

In 1991 we released a general purpose horticultural program  called “Horris” that was taken up and used successfully by several wine producers and by the South Australian Department of Agriculture  Horticultural Research Stations to manage projects including viticulture research projects at Nurioopta in the Barossa Valley.

In 2002, after successfully rolling out our viticulture solution to many Australian wine producers large and small, we were approached by the Cooperative Research Center for Viticulture  to partner with them to commercialise their various software packages. Then a couple of years later we were approached by  the Victorian Department of Primary Industry, the Grape and Wine Research Development Corporation to turn their spreadsheet based Grape Forecaster system into a useable application (See below).

Today agCommander is used to manage vineyards around the world. It is very easy to set up agCommander to run in Viticulture Mode.  It’s as easy as ticking the “Viticulture Mode”  tick box when setting up your company details.
