1983

Around 1983, Mazinus, the owner of MDE Machinebouw, was working as a mechanic and welder. His father was a farmer and he used his hay barn as a workshop. As a child, Mazinus wanted to follow in his father`s footsteps, but the farm had no future.

Mazinus repaired all kinds of things that farmers used in the area. But even then, Mazinus already had a speciality. He dismantled the engines from old trucks. These engines were completely prepared and mounted in a new chassis together with a large water pump. That`s how he made a pump unit with which the trees of fruit growers were irrigated against night frost. The biggest was an Rolls-Royce engine with a water pump of more than 1000 m3 per hour.

1988

In 1988 Mazinus named his company MDE Machinebouw. The M stands for his firstname Mazinus. The D of his surname Dijk. And the E stands for Echteld, where Mazinus lives and where MDE is located.

2000`s

As a boy, Mazinus often had headaches from the sun and started wearing this cap. He has worn this cap for years. In the 2000s, the cap was replaced by a hat. Mazinus can still be recognized by his hat. He always says that his innovative ideas come from under the hat. His son Stefan has now also taken over wearing a hat.

2003

In 2003, MDE made the first Globe, which did not have that name at the time. Many more years of testing and modification followed before the final Globe entered production.

2014

In 2014 MDE builds the largest machine it has ever made: The Combi-Trac CT2101. This is a large tractor with tree loader crane of our own design.

2016

After many years of testing, the first Globe digging machines were released for sale in 2016. The very first Globe 120 to come out of production is at work here in Switzerland.

2019

There is a lot of contact between China and MDE. MDE goes to China several times and there are also regular visits from China at MDE in The Netherlands.

2022

Two of Mazinus` children, Annegré and Stefan, have joined MDE Machinebouw. Together they now run the company which has grown into a well-known, large company in the middle of the Netherlands.

2023

Nowadays MDE builds non-stop machines with more than 40 employees. Most of our machines are built in series, so that we can work quickly and efficiently. We build the machines from start to finish. This means that we have the entire process in our own hands and a lot is possible.

FUTURE

Due to the large growth, MDE is moving to a new location. At this new location, further expansion is possible and production can be taken to an even higher level. Preparations are currently in full swing.
