  • Greenhouse Information Management

Why managing company information is important Managing your horticultural company demands insight into various processes. For the cultivation of your crop, you collect information about the greenhouse climate and water and energy use. In addition, you als to deal with data about labor productivity, costs, inventory and planning – among other things. Good control of production and quality, along with the management of costs and yields are essential for your company profit. This means that all the information from the various sources must be structured, stored and displayed in an orderly manner. Only then is targeted information analysis possible in order to arrive at an assessment and improvement.

  • GIS software for agriculture industry

Balancing the inputs and outputs on a farm is fundamental to its success and profitability. The ability of GIS to analyze and visualize agricultural environments and workflows has proven to be very beneficial to those involved in the farming industry. From mobile GIS in the field to the scientific analysis of production data at the farm manager`s office, GIS is playing an increasing role in agriculture production throughout the world by helping farmers increase production, reduce costs, and manage their land more efficiently.

  • Laboratory Solutions for the agriculture & farming

Many states have governmental departments with diverse responsibilities in regulatory monitoring such as animal health; weights and measures; gas and oil inspection; seed and fertilizer inspection, feed analysis, crop and livestock statistics, monitoring agricultural environmental issues, as well as research and development. The key to success is a data management system powerful enough to handle all the data measured, reported and analyzed, and flexible enough to match the workflows, regulations and rules specific to the agriculture and farming segment.

  • Aerial Surveys for Forestland Management

Aerial surveys have become an integral part of forestland management, in large part replacing extensive field surveys. With current digital mapping capabilities, acquiring fast, accurate imagery is now not only essential, but also cost effective. Whether you need data for stand updating, depletion mapping or defoliation and damage assessment, you face the challenge of choosing the best technology and service for your investment.

To accommodate your forestry business requirements, the GeoVantage approach makes easy and rapid collections of contiguous or scattered blocks possible, with coverage worldwide. GeoVantage offers a wide variety of digital ortho-mosaicked color infrared and natural color imagery from a quarter meter to two-meter pixel resolution.

    Forestry Applications

    • Stand delineation
    • Inventory analysis
    • Depletion mapping
    • Damage assessment
    • Carbon Sequestration

  • Monitoring Tree Health Status

Urban Trees are continuously exposed to several stress situations like air pollution, soil compaction, exhaust gases, damage of tree trunks, etc. For the responsible authorities it is important to anticipate these problems, as the consequences of possible accidents can be considerable (e.g. tree fall).EUROSENSE can provide a number of products that are important means for designing a correct policy for urban trees on short and long term.

Acquisition of images -The acquisition of aerial or satellite images is the basis of tree inventory, mapping and most of our products. The assessment of the physiological tree status is done with colour infrared (IR) images. In the IR spectrum of the light, vegetation reflects much more and can hence be better analysed than in the case of normal light spectrum.

Tree inventory - An inventory of the tree patrimony is the basis of a good tree management. Tree species identification, tree height, trunk circumference measurements and spatial localization of trees are primary needs for every Green City Service.
Tree crown diameter - Based on semi-automatic aerial or satellite image analysis, the crown diameter of every tree can be calculated. The location, the extent of trees and their proximity to buildings can be visualised in a GIS (Geographic Information System) environment.
    Tree labelling
     - In the field, every tree can be labelled to assure the correct identification.

Tree status assessment - Mechanical Status: EUROSENSE assesses tree stability with the Visual Tree Assessment method. This consists in identifying internal mechanical defects using external signs (e.g. appearance of the trunk, fungal fruiting bodies,…).
Physiological status: unhealthy trees, although appearing healthy on the field, can already exhibit obvious illness symptoms (lower red colour levels) on the colour infrared images. Mostly, this bad physiological status will only be visible on the field several years later.

Data management - The integration of each tree into a GIS (Geographic Information System) database is essential. Within this GIS, the user can request, observe and add data during different stages of the tree management. By publishing the obtained data online, citizens can also visualize the results.

Analysis tools - Trees can be evaluated through time by making evolution maps: improvement or deterioration of the health status of trees can be visualized. Statistical analysis, like tree species, health status distribution, etc. can be very useful in reports. Tree policy and management plan - A clear tree policy can result in a detailed management plan indicating concrete measures for every tree.
