Our company’s founder and President Alex Abatti Jr. is a third generation farmer in Imperial Valley, California. His ancestors arrived from Italy in the early thirties. Striking out on his own, he started a custom farm service company in 1981. Following the rapid growth of the business he began to farm in 1984 becoming one of the largest farmers in the area. In 1990 a fertilizer company was started to complement the farm and to assure delivery of chemicals necessary in agriculture. Green Touch Fertilizer also manufactures organic fertilizers and markets commercial fertilizers in Arizona and California. In 1993, to complement the forage division of the farm, we started Eight Star Commodities, which double-compresses and markets the forage products abroad and domestically.
