Feed - Ensiling - Biological Silage Additives

Kofasil - Model S - Lactic Acid Bacteria

KOFASIL S contains a specially selected non-GM strain of the lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus buchneri. In addition to lactic acid, this also forms a certain amount of acetic acid which inhibits yeasts and moulds, which improves the storage life of silage kept in non-airtight conditions where heating on exposure could occur without the use of additives

Kofasil - Model S 1.2 - Lactic Acid Bacteria

Well fermented energy rich silages exposed to air tend to spoilage. Valuable, easy digestible nutrients are degraded by yeasts and moulds. That results in re-heating and the growth of moulds visible by the typical colored hot spots. In addition, a mycotoxin risk is increasing. Management failures during ensiling like insufficient packing, non-airtight sealing and slow feed-out are major causes. To prevent that, best management combined with the use of Kofasil S 1.2 is needed.

Kofasil - Model LAC - Lactic Acid Bacteria

KOFASIL LAC is an inoculant containing two homofermentative strains of the lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus plantarum). These have been specially isolated from silage for use as a silage inoculant and have not been genetically modified. The use of KOFASIL LAC results in silage crops (e.g. grass, legumes plants) in an intensive lactic acid formation which drops the pH value quickly and significantly. This inhibits the development of undesirable harmful bacteria such as clostridia and reduces DM-losses. Treating forage crops with KOFASIL LAC results in high-energy, nutrient-rich silage that is perfectly hygienic and is ideal for feeding to high-performance cattle.

Kofasil - Model DUO - Optimize Silage Preservation with KOFASIL DUO Lactic Acid Bacteria

The combination of homofermentative and heterofermentative lactic acid bacteria combines the positive effects of  KOFASIL LAC and KOFASIL S. The inclination to Reheating esspecially at silages with higher DM- and sugar contents is reduced and the fermentation quality is secured. A high number of trials with a wide range of fodder crops eg. gras, alflalfa, red clover, green cereal crops and crimped cereals prove the double effect of KOFASIL DUO
