CETS - Phytotron Plant Growing Chambers

Phytotrons are chambers that provide controlled environmental conditions for growing plants.  Phytotrons have been extensively used for research on how various environmental factors affect plant growth and development.  However, the CETS phytotrons are designed specifically for the commercial production of AstroTubers™ (potato minitubers), rather than for research purposes.  Consequently, the CETS phytotron design places emphasis on reliability, engineering robustness, and above all economical operation not usually found in phytotrons designed and used for research purposes.

CETS - Proprietary Nutrient Solution and Growth Enhancers

The nutrient requirements for effective growth, development, and tuberization of the potato plants growing in the phytotrons at each stage of the growth process are provided by a proprietary mixture of the required chemicals in water. Although this nutrient solution can be termed as the classical Modified Hoagland solution, the actual composition of the nutrient is vastly different from any Hoagland solution defined in the literature. The unique composition of the nutrient solution is based on a number of years of experience producing the AstroTubers™ (potato minitubers) in the phytotrons.

CETS - Superior Technology for Seed Potato Production

CETS offers the controlled environment hardware & technology for rapid production of AstroTubers™ (potato minitubers) anywhere in the world. Through extensive research and development, CETS has developed a superior method for producing disease-free potato minitubers.

AstroTubers - Potato Minitubers

AstroTubers (potato minitubers) are tubers produced by one or two node stem cuttings derived from established tissue culture plantlets, Stem cuttings are made from the tissue culture plantlets after a growth period of 3 to 4 weeks in a phytotron. Repeated stem cuttings can be made from the established plantlets at approximately 3 week intervals. The tissue culture plantlets are replaced annually.
