CGB has been an innovative and progressive leader ...
CGB has been an innovative and progressive leader in the grain and transportation industries since 1970, when it began modestly in a small office in St. Louis, Missouri with 3 employees. Today, CGB operates a global enterprise in more than 95 locations with over 1,500 employees, overseeing a diverse family of businesses.
The company provides an array of services for grain farmers, from financing and risk management to buying, storing, selling and shipping of the crop. CGB continues to be one of the largest shippers of grain on the inland river system.
The company's entrepreneurial approach has thrived over 40 years as CGB has expanded in many new directions. Natural extensions have included the addition of soybean processing and fertilizer products.
Moving these agricultural products from farmer to market created a huge demand for safe and efficient transportation and logistics operations through the national inland river system. The need for that infrastructure was met with the creation of CTLC (Consolidated Terminals and Logistics Co.) which was formed to provide overall logistics, transportation and bulk commodity services.
In addition to servicing CGB's core businesses, CTLC's operation has expanded to include a global base of customers who need reliable transportation and logistics services. An outgrowth of CGB's extensive transportation and logistical network is a free-standing transportation company, CTLC, that services a wide range of customers far beyond the agricultural industry. CTLC provides transportation solutions using truck, rail and barge.
