Our newest beef innovation, Experior™ (lubabegron), is the first United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved product labeled to reduce ammonia gas emissions from an animal or its waste.¹ Experior is approved for the reduction of ammonia gas emissions per pound of live weight and hot carcass weight in beef steers and heifers fed in confinement for slaughter during the last 14 to 91 days on feed.

Rumensin gives cows a boost of extra energy* that can increase their milk production efficiency.^1† Rumensin is the first FDA-approved feed ingredient for lactating and dry cows that increases milk production efficiency^† by delivering more milk per pound of feed while maintaining milk’s natural wholesomeness.

Feed companies that supply quality feed products to the cattle industry have utilized Elanco`s Rumensin as an integral component of their feeding programs. To assist feed manufacturers in providing a quality feed product to their customers, Elanco has added Microtracers® to Rumensin. Microtracers can provide a quick method for confirmation of inclusion or absence of Rumensin in the feed.

A convenient, cow-side test to diagnose subclinical ketosis (SCK) is available for U.S. dairies. Keto-Test is a simple milk-dip test strip that changes color in the presence of abnormally high concentrations of circulating ketone bodies, which indicates the presence of subclinical ketosis.¹  Subclinical ketosis typically occurs in early lactation when cows are in negative energy balance. An estimated 15% of cows in U.S. dairy herds have ketosis or subclinical ketosis.² The cost of a single case of subclinical ketosis (SCK) is estimated to be $78.³
