Empire Recycling Corporation, headquartered in Utica N.Y., has announced the acquisition of Lightning Fast Freight. Lightning Fast is a full service transportation company specializing in intermodal freight. `Transportation is a huge part of our business and customer service depends on it being able to better control the costs and the logistics of all types of freight is imperative to maintaining that service. This acquisition will enable us to help our customers with inbound and outbound freight as well as providing additional markets for their recyclable materials,` said Dave Levitt, project manager for Empire. The acquisition will bring Empire`s fleet of trucks to approximately 60 units and add an additional 30 jobs to their workforce.
