Equipment Incorporated was founded in 1951 by Joe J. Schmelzer Jr. in Jackson, Mississippi. The primary focus was the sales and support of construction equipment. Since that time, the company has grown and added six additional locations and equipment lines. Today the company is run by Scot Akins. Currently, the company represents innovative industry-leading manufacturers for construction, material handling and plant maintenance equipment. Support services are available on all major equipment lines. Engineering consulting services are also available. Equipment Incorporated now has seven locations in Jackson, Tupelo, and Hattiesburg, MS-Mobile, AL-Texarkana and Longview, TX-Shreveport, LA. The company will continue to add equipment and support services to meet the ever changing needs of customers.
