Converging roads

The first of the companies to be founded, that will later form the IMALPAL Group, was IMAL in 1970. In its early years, IMAL specialized in dosing and blending systems. In the years to follow, after experiencing a rapid growth and thanks to a cohesive team of expert engineers, the company invested in the design and production of online quality controls and laboratory testing equipment.

In the meantime, in 1978 PAL was founded, a pioneer in screening, selection and cleaning of work process materials.

During that same period, in 1981, GLOBUS started up its business as well. The company specialized in debarking and chipping systems from the onset, along with all the machinery and equipment required for log yard management and preparation of the work process material.
Three apparently distant companies but all sharing the same goal to be the best in the field, all spurred on to do more and to do it in the best possible manner.

Together we are stronger

As time went on, the boundaries between the fields of each company’s expertise became less and less distinct as the know-how of one gradually became vital to the other and vice versa.

IMAL and PAL were the first to set up a partnership which they defined as “synergy” in 1998. Ten years later, in 2008 this synergy was consolidated with the formation of the IMALPAL Group. Globus joined the group in 2012.

In more recent years, through mergers and acquisitions, PSP, PMI and ITALSORT also became members to complete and amplify the Group’s potential.

Growing with you

Over the last ten years, in a constant endeavour to evolve and progress, the Group has adapted and applied its long experience, know-how and innovative solutions to design and develop technical solutions to move into new markets in the wood industry such as biomass power plants, drying systems and power generation.

The Group has recently designed new systems for treating industrial and municipal waste to maximize the amount of material that can be recovered and utilized to produce power and to minimize the amount of waste going to landfill sites.
