Gerald Johnson Sr. began his manufacturing out of necessity. As farming practices evolved, he discovered ways to design new implements to keep up with changing needs. He soon patented his inventions in the USA & Canada. In 1981, he founded Johnson Mfg., Inc. and began selling his innovative new farm implements. Some of Johnson Mfg., Inc.’s first products were the Quik-Port Drill Transport, Quik-Cap Packer Wheel Cap, and Quik-Clean Round Baler Unplugger. In 1998, they developed the HyGrade Pull Type Grader, a versatile implement with adjustable blade angles and hydraulic rear steering to safely handle jobs on tough slopes and ditches. Improvements along the way have made the HyGrade Graders one of their most sought-after products.
