With knowledge from past experience and a drive to pursue the business, K & S Millwrights, Inc. was founded in May of 1994 on the farm site of Ken and Pearl Stresman in Buffalo Lake.

With a handshake from the manager of the Buffalo Lake Elevator to be our first customer and the backing from banker Keith Fischer (another Buffalo Lake native), the dream began.

The first office was the living room and kitchen table; that quickly got moved to a remodeled Quonset garage.  As the company gained dealerships and the barn couldn’t hold the inventory anymore, the Scharmer Lumber Yard was purchased for more warehouse space.  Over the years, we have purchased more land, tore down the farmsite and built buildings to accommodate the equipment, inventory and offices of today all at one facility.

K & S Millwrights, Inc. has been providing grain handling, storage and drying equipment since 1994.  From sales, service and installation, we have grown to also provide new site design with CAD drawings and site excavation; working with you as your contractor on your project from the very beginning until the project is totally completed.  And our services don’t stop there; not only do we provide new construction crews, we also have crews available for 24 hour breakdown emergency’s, repair work and scheduled preventative maintenance shutdowns.

K & S Millwrights has eight millwright crews, certified crane and boom truck operators and cranes (26, 40 and 90 tons), excavation equipment and skilled operators – all to provide your grain handling needs with knowledge, professionalism and safety.  We warehouse thousands of items from many vendors for immediate sale to keep our customers satisfied on a daily basis – having what you need, when you need it.

Over the years, we have built this business one customer at a time based on our reputation for prompt service, professionalism and product knowledge.  We are grateful for each and every customer we come in contact with – not only those here in Minnesota, but also the many we have had the pleasure working with in Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois.
