This forum is based on my experience. My father dedicated his life to the management of Germany’s eldest natural reserve „Siebengebirge“ (Cologne area), appr. 1,000 hectars of wood.

„Sustainability“ – the buzzword in industry - was firstly mentioned and realized in Saxony/Germany in early 18 century!

This forum is the very first forum that focuses on forest, timber and wood technologies.

I am in a forest house in the Siebengebirge. My Father`s War in the Forest in Germany`s oldest nature reserve – ca. 1.000 ha mostly with hardwoods on steep slopes. With 16 gabs it is the Jugendjagdschein. You can also expect that I will find the meter with you.

Currently there are hundreds of innovations – but after my research nothing is related to the depletion of forest and wood.

1713 the Saxon Berghauptmann Hans Carl von Carlowitz coined the term "Nachhaltigkeit" with his book "Sylvicultura oeconomica". In his book he gathered together the forestry knowledge of his time, expanded it through his own experiences and formulated for the first time the concept of sustainable forest management. His book is a milestone on the path to a regulated, sustainable forestry. This can be summed up with the short form “Protection by Use”.

We want to introduce you to relevant technologies, innovations, research projects, projects and startups from home and abroad that will help maintain this sustainability.

“Immerhin” offers the German forest and timber industry more jobs than our beloved automobile industry!
