Plain coulter blades are primarily used on no-till air drills and open the ground for planting or broadcast spreading of wheat rye, barley, soybeans and other grass-type crops. Osmundson’s original plain coulter blade is manufactured to provide strength, ductility and consistency 100% of the time in the field.

The fluted, or ripple, coulter blade has multiple applications, but it’s primarily used on planters or fertilizing equipment. While it provides the same level of ground penetration as the plain coulter blade, the ripple coulter blade does create more soil disturbance better suited for row crop planting.

The patented Turbo disc blade is the most recognizable disc blade in the market. Sold exclusively to Great Plains Manufacturing, the Turbo disc blade is specifically designed as a hybrid between a plain and notched disc blade — providing greater wear life, ground grip and speed.

The patented Samurai coulter blade is the most aggressive coulter blade that Osmundson manufactures. The edge is specially designed to size residue and penetrate the soil — in the first pass — at a high rate of speed. This blade is also suited for all field conditions but excels in wet soil.

One of our backbone products, the plain disc blade is designed to penetrate the ground and move soil in all conditions. It also lasts the longest. And whether farmers need to move large amounts of soil or push the speed of their passes, Osmundson plain disc blades range from shallow to deep concavities. 

Notched disc blades, or sometimes called scalloped disc blades, were designed to grip and penetrate the soil. The extra bite ensures residue is sized and buried through every field pass. Like our plain disc blades, our notched disc blades can be manufactured in a variety of concavities to meet the needs of the market.

Used for row crop planting applications, plain disc opener blades create a trench for seeds to be planted in. Osmundson’s plain disc opener blades are designed to wear evenly and maintain their shape throughout their life. We offer a plain opener disc in a variety of shapes, forms and thicknesses to accommodate varying soil conditions throughout the world.

Precision technology and updated machine centers have allowed us to create some of the most state-of-the-art row cleaners available today.
