SDI is more than an irrigation method for row crops, it’s a management tool that allows growers to apply the precise amount of water and nutrients required directly to the root zone during the plant’s critical growth stages. Water and nutrients are also used more efficiently so input costs are reduced while increasing yields. Driplines are buried 8-15” below the soil surface and spaced 30-60” apart enabling water and fertilizer to easily reach each plant’s root zone. When properly maintained, a high quality drip system can last up to 20 years or more.
