Universal Biosensors is a company that began in the early 2000s, primarily focusing on the development and manufacturing of biosensor test strips intended for use in handheld diagnostic point-of-care analyzers. Initially, it made a significant impact in the medical field by working with LifeScan, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company, to develop the OneTouch® Verio® blood glucose monitoring device. This collaboration ended in 2018, prompting the company to diversify its patented technology into new fields, starting with the wine industry. This led to the introduction of the Sentia™ wine analyzer in 2021, which benefits from the company’s expertise in electrochemical sensors. The Sentia™ technology offers a highly convenient, portable solution for wine testing, enabling essential analysis tasks during production with speed and accuracy.
