Trout River is a privately held Canadian company that specializes in conveyor trailers ( live bottom trailers). Its head office and main manufacturing facility is located in Coleman, Prince Edward Island. Trout River has dealerships/partners in Quebec, Ontario, Western Canada and New York State. We have direct sales people in Atlantic Canada, Ontario and the United States. Trout River also has a distributor in Europe and manufactures under license in Australia. The company was formed in 1999 and its real expertise is in conveyors. The Trout River live bottom trailer was designed, manufactured initially for the Canadian market which has relatively heavy weight restrictions. This means that we do not have to do “add ons” (such as wooden planks or additional valving) when we enter new markets.

Trout River’s view on business is that we really enjoy working with the customer to create a trailer that meets their needs (and makes more money).  Today, Trout River is Canada’s largest manufacturer of live bottom trailers.  In our 2012 fiscal year- we produced 112 live bottom trailers and have been growing every year since we opened the doors.  We have worked hard to find a balance of best practices and lean manufacturing techniques while still having 35% of our orders being “customized”.

Whether it’s one of our attachments, an extra door, a special hydraulic power pack or a great idea from a customer- we do all we can to accommodate our customers.
