Climate-Controlled Greenhouse

At Van Dijk heating we specialise in air movement and distribution. As part of our unique climate-controlled greenhouse system we supply various components that can also be used in semi-closed greenhouse systems. These fans, ducts and other components can be used in a range of horticultural air and ventilation systems. The climate-controlled greenhouse system gives the grower greater control over the climate in the greenhouse and provides more options for control. Controlling the climate and humidity levels more precisely means that the crop stays in better condition and reduces the risk of disease.

Greenhouse CO2 Dosing Units

Light and CO2 are essential for optimum photosynthesis and crop growth in the greenhouse. CO2 is a hot topic in the horticultural industry at the moment, with our understanding of plants’ photosynthetic response increasing and with supplies of CO2 likely to diminish in future. We know that every crop has an optimum concentration of CO2 and its own tipping point in terms of CO2 uptake. It is therefore essential for a modern greenhouse grower to be able to precisely dose CO2 from the boiler or CHP unit, both in terms of yields and costs. Using Van Dijk heating CO2 dosing units improves growth and prevents excessively high costs. And that’s been the case since 1980.

Active Ventilation System for Active Ventilation and Dehumidification

AVS-WTW stands for Active Ventilation System with Heat Recovery. Unlike in the standard AVS unit, this system draws off the greenhouse air with a fan. The incoming cold outdoor air is heated up in an air-based heat exchanger. If the temperature difference is great enough, not only the sensible but also the latent heat is used (condensation). In this version, the central heating block for the other AVS units is retained to enable air to be blown in at exactly the right temperature. The AVS-WTW therefore makes an even greater contribution to achieving a sustainable crop. This model is particularly suited to artificially lit crops. All these systems are wall units designed to be fitted on the outer walls of the greenhouse. Various growers at home and abroad are already getting excellent results from the Active Ventilation System.

Active Ventilation System

AVS-C is an active ventilation system with an extra cooling block. With this system, the air inside the greenhouse is cooled by removing sensible and latent heat from the air flow inside the greenhouse. The heat can be stored for later use. This system also enables the pre-night temperature inside the greenhouse to be rapidly lowered to the desired value.
