Countrystyle Group acquires TJ Composting
Waste management and recycling firm Countrystyle Group has significantly expanded its composting services after acquiring TJ Composting.
Countrystyle Group will take over TJ Composting’s four operational sites in Hampshire, Sussex, Kent and Essex, which all use open windrow composting technologies. A keen supporter of composting, Countrystyle Group already owns two in-vessel composting facilities situated in Kent and Suffolk. The recent acquisition will see the firm’s capacity to produce soil conditioning compost increase to 150,000.
Customer arrangements to treat waste and staff appointments will not be affected.
TJ Composting managing director Charlie Trousdell said: “We recognised some time ago that TJ needed to work with a larger company if it was to develop AD facilities at its various sites. When Countrystyle approached us with a view to purchase ; it seemed an ideal fit especially with Countrystyle’s strong presence in Kent and track record in developing leading edge organic waste treatment methods.”
Furthermore, Countrystyle will now be leading TJ Composting’s plans to build an AD facility in Swanley, South London. A planning application for the 46,000 tonnes-a-year capacity has recently been submitted.
