Alweco - Screen Cloths
There are many types of screen cloth. The grower has the ideas and the vision, we have the specialists and the cloth to help realise these ideas and visions. A great combination, if we may say so ourselves. The type of screen cloth or film is determined by the system application: energy saving, darkening, sun protection or a combination of these. Energy saving
Because energy saving does not only apply at night when it is dark, screen cloths have also been developed that can be used during the day. Light transmission and light diffusion are aspects that play an extremely important role here, but humidity control is also decisive. The right choice depends on the individual circumstances. Sun protection
The sun is one of the most important contributors to any grower, but not always the easiest. In order to usefully direct all that free sunlight into the greenhouse, the right screen cloth is required. Screen cloths that are only used for blocking sunlight have an open structure. They do what they are supposed to do - block out sunlight, but at the same time create an ideal light diffusion. Because they block out sunlight, it becomes cooler in the greenhouse, and because of their open structure, condensation is prevented.
Energy saving & sun protection
Many different screen cloths are available specifically for the combination of energy saving and sun protection. Many of these screens have a diffuse character that contributes to a pleasant temperature and a good light diffusion in the greenhouse. During the night, the accumulated heat is retained in the greenhouse, which not only saves energy but also stabilises the climate. This method of climate control results in minimal condensation on the crop, which virtually eliminates the risk of fungal diseases.
Light emission
The most important feature of assimilation screens is their ability to reduce light emissions from the greenhouse to almost zero. This way, the legal requirements with regard to light emission are met.
At the same time, when closed, the installation should have as little negative impact on the climate as possible. The porous structure of the screen cloth allows humidity and heat to be removed by ventilating above the screen. Of course, these screen cloths are also insulating and fire retardant.
Blackout
How to achieve zero light in a glass greenhouse? By using double or triple layer screen cloth in a hermetically sealed screen installation. And of course, we do not forget the vertical screen system for side walls.
In certain crops, such as chrysanthemums, kalanchoes and medicinal marijuana, total darkening of the crop is an important means of optimising growth. Any grower can achieve this perfectly by using blackout screens from ALWECO.
