Model AVF+ Factory - Automated Vertical Farming Factory
When we add AVF+ process equipment to your AVF+ Compact, we refer to it as an AVF+ Factory. Depending on the size and local factors, we select the best fitting manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated process equipment. Our AVF+ Factory is thus controlled by adaptive automation. Hence, depending on your business case, we look at the best option to get the most out of your AVF+ Factory.
Adding more growing surfaces is easier than ever, do you have a need for more cells afterward? We can add cells up to a total of 10,000 meters of cultivation area without any problem.
The first step towards an AVF+ Factory is a suitable building. For example, two cells (960m²) with processing equipment and a water irrigation area require a minimum of 1,000 to 1,200 square meters of footprint.
Operating an AVF+ Factory requires labor, depending on your business case we advise manual, semi-automated, and fully automated processing equipment. In order to achieve the highest possible ROI.
We deliver a turn-key Automated Vertical Farming facility from A to Z. You just have to provide us a suitable building and profitable market, and we make sure you can be a grower too!
With AVF+ Factory, everyone can be a grower. You only have to provide us a suitable building and market opportunity, and we provide you with a turn-key fully automated vertical farming Factory. Growing any type of crop has never been so easy.
The AVF+ Factory is also ideal for pursuing large volumes of automated crop production. All the best of AVF+ is combined into a complete system. With the AVF+ Factory, all your cultivation dreams come true.
Feature #1
From seeding to packaging
Growing cell
An important part of this process are of course the Germinate and Compact cell(s). Additionally, the Junior cell can be added for your own research purposes.
Process equipment
Our Factory comes standard with a seeding line, transplanting area, harvester, cleaning area, washers, and packaging line. All these different lines are crucial for a smooth and clean growth process and take all the hard work out of your hands.
Logistics
Automated conveyor belts and junctions are used for internal transport of benches within the Factory area. These systems are, like all other systems, controlled by FarmOS. You just have to fill the benches with trays and the system takes care of the rest!
Feature #2
Growing your -for example- lettuce under one roof
Germination phase
After seeding, the trays are placed in the germination cell, where they will remain for the coming days. When the seeds have sprouted, the trays are placed in benches and brought to the Compact cell ready for the next phase.
Propagation phases 1 & 2
After propagation phase 1, the bench goes via the conveyor bypass to the transplanting area to a less dense tray, this process repeats itself once more before entering the last phase.
Cultivation phase
The last phase is where the lettuce is at its biggest, and after a certain number of days the crops are taken to the harvesting line. After this process, the crops are taken to the cooling chamber and the dirty trays and benches are taken to the cleaning station to be prepared for the next growing cycle.
Feature #3
Growing crops
Know your crop
For high consistency growing, quality seeds are needed in your vertical farming solution. The amount of days needed for harvesting is fixed within the growing recipe, which means that all known factors are taken into consideration and the crop will provide fine produce.
Grow multiple crops
Growing multiple crops is possible in the AVF+ Factory. It is good to know that growing several crops in the factory also means that the logistics have to be adjusted for each crop, which means that more work has to be carried out. We would like to tell you more about it.
Allow crops to grow in peace
Despite the swift and adequate treatment of the crops outside the cell, inside the cell, they grow in peace. During the growing phase, we leave the crops as much as possible undisturbed, therefore no one is allowed to enter the AVF+ cells.
