An AVF+ Compact by itself is fully automated, the cultivation of the crop takes place without human intervention. You only need a small amount of personnel to operate any process equipment within the farm.
AVF+ Compact features a climate cell that allows you to create the ideal climate for crops to grow strong, healthy and fast.
Inside the Compact’s climate cell is where the real growing magic happens. Under bright led-lights, specialized for growing, a sea of crops are growing with hydroponics. Climate variables, light, water, and nutrients - the essential ingredients for perfect growth can be adjusted and controlled to establish the perfect growing circumstances for any crop. To make sure the output is consistant in quality all year round.
The cell itself is closed off from the outside world to ensure that the climate stays the way it’s intended and to keep out parasites, viruses, pests, and bacteria that can threaten the health of the growing crops. AVF+ Compact has achieved the highest level in Bio Security.
Operating a Compact is simple and straightforward through its user interface, which lets you control the climate (temperature, humidity, and CO2) and nutrients per Compact cell and light intensity, light spectrum, and irrigation per section within the Compact cell.
Healthy, strong, and fast-growing crops require an environment in which everything they need is just right, creating that ideal environment requires a balance of climate, light, and nutrients. With AVF+ Compact you’ve now got the power to give a plant the best it can get, all year round!

Optimization of floor space
Optimization of floor space is the name of the game in vertical farming and with our AVF+ Compact you can go up to 10 layers, so you can use each square meter efficiently.
Grow what you want
Whether you’d like to grow just one crop variety or more, you are free to decide. Every Compact cell can grow up to 10 different crops with the same climate specifications.
Signify LED lighting per layer
Light recipes (intensity, spectrum, and time on/off) are managed for each individual layer, making it possible to have up to 10 different light recipes at one time.

Completely controllable climate
Inside the climate cell the climate variables for temperature, humidity, airflow, and CO2 can all be controlled through the FarmOS user interface, to create the perfect climate conditions for crop research.
Precision irrigation & nutrient management
A water management unit carefully prepares the nutrient solution by mixing in the right ingredients and adding (recycled) water. Every layer is served the exact amount of water needed and of all water used, up to 99% is recycled.
Closed-off environment
The closed-off climate cell ensures that harmful viruses, pesticides, and insects will be kept out of the cell for the benefit of the plant.

Know exactly when you have your crop output. Through extensive research, we know exactly how many days it takes for each crop to be ready to harvest. This allows you to keep the logistics to your end customer as efficiently as possible.

Fully automated growing
Grow without interference
Your AVF+ Compact is made in such a way that during the growing process, no one can enter the cell. This way we ensure the high standards of the plants. Your crop will appear again on the output side when it is ready for the next growing phase (or harvest).
Growth cycles
Crops often require multiple cycles in the AVF+ Compact. In fact, for many crops, it is necessary to set it wider, as it grows. This ensures optimal use of space horizontally and vertically. Resulting in the plant growing better and stronger.
