Kett - Model OT300 - Automatic Harvest Determiner
This simple-to-use device provides the farmer with the optimal time to harvest by automactically calculating temperature days in the field. Using battery operation, the device will cover a harvest zone encompassing a 2km (1mile) radius.
If harvest is premature, immature grains are likely to be found. Late harvesting will cause grains to be cracked. Either case leads to lower quality. Harvesting at the right time increases crop yields and improves quality. To achieve this, it is very important to judge the right time for harvesting. This judgment has conventionally been made with human eyes by the color of grain and the actual ripeness of the plants. This requires considerable experience, and cannot be done by just anyone. The OT-300 was developed based on the strong demand for easy judgment of correct harvesting time. To determine grain ripeness, each day’s temperature needs to be measured after grain is formed. When temperature days are approximately 1000C, ripeness reaches its peak, which is the right time for harvesting.
Once this device is set, it automatically measures temperature and adds them up, displaying the right harvest time.
