DISTAG QCS – In the beginning:

Born in 1988, DISTAG QCS are a forward-looking company focused on retaining all the ethics and values which have led us to become one of the largest Component Solutions providers in the UK & Ireland.

Our company was founded by Joe Deacon – a young entrepreneur with a love for engineering. Distag quickly became a family-based, business when he married Sheila and she joined the business in 1992. Joe & Sheila were joined by Stewart Booth in our UK business, along with some loyal and dedicated team members in both Ireland and UK, over the intervening years, many of them who we are delighted to say are still part of our team today. We are encouraged to be joined in the business by the next generation, such as Cathal Deacon and proudly maintain a family run business model.

Sourcing our first products from Taiwan in 1988, and India in 1990, DISTAG QCS has grown from our headquarters in Tullow, Co. Carlow, Ireland, to establish our UK operation in 1992, now based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Having sourced our first products from PR China in 1996 and having built relationships with a number of different factories in China, we established our first Joint Venture PowerDrive Shanghai. From PDS we could control the quality and protect the intellectual property of our Be-spoke products, which has allowed us to become a trusted and respected partner of OEM companies, wishing to source components and out-source manufacturing.

Following the acquisition in 2006 of Flexequip Hydraulics in Northern Ireland, we were joined by some very experienced staff, and delighted to say that a number of that team with nearly 40 years experience are still with us today in our newly developed premises in Dungannon, Northern Ireland. Recognising that our team are our most important asset, like all our locations, we are delighted to continue building our team in Dungannon to maintain that experience in the business.

Over the past 15 years, Distag QCS have continued to define the product categories in which we operate. Today the Distag group operate in 6 distinct categories such as TRAILER PARTS – HYDRAULICS – BELTS – POWERDRIVE – AGRI-PARTS – OEM BESPOKE
