IDMCFixed Type Bucket Milking Machines for Buffaloes

SHARE

Buffaloes are more difficult to milk than the Holstine or the Jersey cows because they have a very small cisternal fraction of milk and the sphincter muscles guarding the teat cannel are much stronger. It requires a higher vacuum to open the teat canal and empty the teats off milk. An active milk ejection is necessary for milk removal in buffaloes, and this may require stimulation. Milking at high vacuum without milk ejection will suck the teats deep into the milking liners preventing flow of milk and causing considerable stress to the animal. However, if milked at a low vacuum with a lower pulsation rate the tactile stimulation of the milking liners can gently stimulate the buffalo for milk ejection.
