Rotex EdelweissModel AS 5 | 6 | 7 - Lightweight and Compact Front-Mounted Mower

SHARE

BCS widens its range of front-disc mowers with thenew Rotex Edelweiss, which are more lightweight and compact and hence perfect for alpine use and suitable to be coupled to all types of tractors, including isodiametric and special mountain ones. Available in afive, six and seven-disc versions with widths cutting up to 2.85 meters, not only do the Rotex Edelweiss machines offer all the improvements of the well-known Rotex Avant NT range, but they are also much more lightweight and compact thanks to the redesigned frame, the transmissions and the control box of the cutter bar, now largely made of light alloy.

Furthermore, the bar is protected both on the front and on the rear by a synthetic layer rather than metal sheeting, whereas the method for transmissions based on gears in an oil bathto maximize reliability and minimize maintenance activities remains unchanged.

For the same reason, theclutches and the free wheels which protect the transmissions, work in aclosed carter in oil bathand integrated into the control support, placed  behind the first disc to reduce the amount of space and make the outflow of the cut forage easier.
The cutter bar is equipped withgears in oil bath and with a safety system against accidental impactsupported by disc-holding flanges with breakdown device.
Six types of frames with tractor linkagemake the Rotex Edelweiss compatible with all the tractors currently on the market.

Acentral articulated joint allows the machines to oscillate with respect to the coupling (± 5°), adapting to the morphology of the soils on which they are used. A pin makes it possible to lock it during road transfer.

The bar features a compact yet hard-wearing profile. This optimisespenetration in all types of forage, even if thick and flattened, ensuring regular discharge without any danger of clogging.
Thebafflessituated in the knife overlap zones protect the bar should a blade bend upon contact with an obstacle.
The specialsteel wear-resistant skidsprovide maximum protection for the gear box.
Theconveyor cones, which are mounted on the first and last disc, make the swathing of the cut forage easier and allow the machine to gather it towards the centre of the bar, thus forming a copious and well aired heap.
Thehydraulic displacement(optional) allows the Rotex Edelweiss machinesto move transversally about 175 mm on both sides, with respect to the central axis of the third point coupling.
This allowsimproved load distribution and enhanced tractor/mower stabilityespecially when operating on slopes.
It also becomes a practical accessory when operating in the presence of trees or on canal banks.
